NC Dairy Industry Referendum

A vote on the NC Dairy Industry Referendum will be held on January 20, 2016 for Grade A dairies at the Alamance County Extension Office (each county Extension office will host the referendum for their county).  Each dairy in NC will have exactly one vote.  The vote is either for or against the following:

Shall the producers of milk create a state assessment program to assess themselves at the rate of two cents ($0.02) per hundredweight of milk sold and use these funds so collected by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and paid to the North Carolina Dairy Producers Association to be used for research and education programs on topics of importance to North Carolina Dairy Producers, to represent dairyproducers on matters of policy and regulations affecting Dairy Producers, and to promote the best interests of North Carolina Dairy Industry.
