About once every five years, the genetic base is adjusted to ensure an accurate and relevant reference population for which to compare all male and female proofs (read about it HERE)
The TPI formula and NM$ index have also reallocated their weights within the production, health and conformation categories. Both indexes now place additional emphasis on production traits to better align with current market trends and costs of production.
Household names such as AltaGREATEST (2338 TPI), AltaFAIRWAY (2303 TPI), AltaIOTA(2271 TPI), and AltaMETEOR (2266 TPI) remain among the elite sires in our daughter-proven line-up, adding numerous daughters to their already high reliability proofs.
With the TPI change and the addition of daughters, several sires, including AltaIOTA, AltaTYSON and AltaAIRNET gained considerable TPI points to move up on the list.
