Witter Steps Down as Taurus-ST President

MEHOOPANY, Penn. —Taurus-ST President and much-respected dairy industry fixture
Richard W. “Dick” Witter is stepping down after a half-century career in the artificial
Insemination (A.I.) and genetics businesses, effective March 31.

The man hailed as a pioneer and innovator in the bovine genetics world says he is leaving the
company he founded to spend more time farming, tinkering with antique cars, hunting and being
with family and friends. He will also remain active in many industry, civic and community
organizations.
Witter began his career at his local artificial insemination co-op in 1965. He founded Taurus-
Service Inc. six years later and grew it into one of the largest independently owned A.I.
companies in the U.S. before selling it to Inguran, LLC, in mid-2014. Taurus-ST, as the company
was re-branded, remains a division of Inguran, LLC, doing business as Sexing Technologies
Witter has served the National Association of Animal Breeders (NAAB) as a director, an
Executive Board member and a representative on the Counsel on Dairy Cattle Breeders (CDCB).
He is the longest serving (28 years) member of the NAAB Dairy Sire Evaluation Committee and
he is a member of the board of managers of the Cooperative Dairy DNA Repository.
“Dick’s contributions to and impacts on the dairy genetics and A.I. industries are immeasurable,”
said Maurice Rosenstein, Co-CEO of Sexing Technologies. “He has helped mold our industry
into the dynamic business it is today and we are grateful for his tireless work and dedication. The
entire Sexing Technologies family wishes Dick continued success as he embarks on this newest
chapter in his life.”
