Two Dairy Animal Handling Trainings Slated for August

Two Animal Handling Training programs – one in the Panhandle and one in Central Texas — will be presented in August by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.

“This training is designed for owners, managers and employees,” said Ellen Jordan, AgriLife Extension dairy specialist in Dallas. “The class will emphasize safe and appropriate dairy animal handling techniques and stockmanship skills.”

One program will be Aug. 17 at Bailey County Coliseum, 2206 W.American Blvd. in Muleshoe. A second will be Aug. 19 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center, 1229 N. U.S. Highway 281 in Stephenville.

Each training is free and will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at approximately 2 p.m.

The programs will be presented in both English and Spanish. Lunch will be sponsored by Zoetis and refreshments by DairyMax.

RSVP to reserve spots for the Muleshoe training by calling 806-272-4583. For the Stephenville training, call 254-965-1460.
