Regancrest AltaIOTA achieves millionaire status

Alta Genetics is proud to announce 011H09647 Regancrest AltaIOTA as the newest sire to attain the prestigious milestone of one million units produced. Having been in short supply his entire career, he will be only weeks away from a million units in sales.

This powerhouse sire is admired around the globe for his impressive, balanced proof. He stamps out a consistent pattern of strong type with tremendous udders, great production, and excellent fertility and calving traits.

Regancrest AltaIOTA became a household name immediately after his release atop Alta’s daughter-proven lineup in April 2010. He has made a tremendous impact in herds around the world. He has been used as a popular sire of sons, and many of his daughters are in high demand as bull mothers.

In a world now dominated by high genomic young bulls, AltaIOTA’s million-unit achievement is even more astounding knowing he was never marketed before receiving his first daughter proof.

From a different branch of the world-famous, Snow-N Denises Dellia family, this legendary O Man son offers a more unique sire stack than the typical O Man sons. AltaIOTA’s dam, Regancrest Ito Isa was a Barbee-M Juror Ito daughter that scored VG-86, was a Gold Medal Dam, and produced over 30,000 lbs. of milk her first lactation. Behind her is Regancrest Emory Dorissa (VG-86 GMD DOM), followed by the matriarch, Dellia.

“It’s not surprising that one of O Man’s best type sons, and undisputedly his best udder son, came from the great Dellia Family from Regancrest Farms.” says Alta’s COO, Paul Hunt.

Sheri Danhof and Frank Regan of Regancrest say they are currently milking 33 AltaIOTA daughters in their herd, and because of the consistently good production, great fertility and functional type, Iota has earned his place as their favorite bull on the farm.

Sheri adds, that they “love the trouble-free, long-lasting nature of the Iota daughters. They breed back, often settling on the first service, and are cows we just don’t notice because they never cause any problems. As they calve back in as 3- and 4-year-olds, they’re among our best.”

AltaIOTA’s proof values have retained unparalleled stability and consistency since he was first released nearly five years ago, and still remains among the top 20 daughter-proven TPI sires in the entire industry. In fact, at a current TPI of 2271, he is at his highest level ever and well beyond 400 points above his parent average for TPI.

Congratulations to Regancrest for breeding such a globally influential bull, and to the Alta Housing and Lab teams for their vital role in this outstanding achievement.
