The USDA is continuing to provide regular updates on the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) affecting dairy herds and is regularly updating their webpage and map to reflect affected states (see below). As of this evening, the disease has been confirmed in dairy herds in seven states. The USDA updates the data weekdays by 4 pm ET. Click here to view the webpage.

Please reach out to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture with questions/concerns regarding the guidelines, or join us for the next Dairy Industry Conference Call this coming Wednesday, April 10 at 1 p.m. EST with updates on the HPAI health situation and PA’s response. Click here to view connection details and add it to your calendar.

Note: The USDA has confirmed that there is no threat to human health and milk. Dairy products remain safe to consume.
