(Cornwall, PEI – March 20th, 2015) Lynmark NYS Sandy EX-90-9E is the first Canadian Milking Shorthorn to be classified Excellent for the ninth time.
Previously, Sandy was one of only two Canadian Milking Shorthorns to be classified Excellent eight times (8E), a distinction she held with her dam, Fieldcrest Rubin Pearl EX-92-8E. Clearly, this is a family with excellence for conformation and longevity!
Sandy is bred and owned by Tim Shearer and Irene Vietinghoff of Lynmark Farms in Norwood, Ontario. She calved in December 2014 for the 13th time and will turn 15 years old on June 1st of this year. She is sired by the American Milking Shorthorn sire Mericrest Now You See.
Sandy has also had success in the show ring, taking Reserve Grand Champion honours at the 2003 National Milking Shorthorn Show as a Three Year Old. Her dam Pearl is a Six Star Brood Cow who also attained Grand Championship honours at Milking Shorthorn shows in Peterborough and Lindsay. Sandy is the 8th generation of Very Good or Excellent cows in her cow family.

Sandy has three daughters classified Very Good, including one of her most recent daughters, Lynmark Clay Sally VG-87, who was twice named Junior Champion of the National Milking Shorthorn Show in Lindsay, Ontario.
