Obituary for Wisconsin Guernsey Breeder Lois ThelkeLois L. Thelke, age 82, of Ripon, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Maplecrest Manor in Ripon.

Lois was born on August 15, 1934, in Van Dyne, WI, the daughter of Edward and Verona Henke Albrecht. She attended rural school at Van Dyne and high school at Rosendale, WI. On June 12, 1954, she was united in marriage with Vernon Thelke of Ripon, WI. The ceremony took place at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Oregon St. in the Town of Nekimi, WI, with the Reverend Otto Behrens officiating. Vernon passed away in December of 2016. Following her marriage, she and her husband were dairy farmers for many years near Ripon. She lived a busy and happy life caring for her children, her house, and lawn and garden. Lois spent many hours with her children when they were in 4-H helping them to train calves and do other 4-H projects. Her family and farm were her big reasons for living.

Lois is survived by her son, Andrew (Anne) Thelke of Waukesha, WI; two daughters, Cindy (Kevin) Floeter of Waupun, WI, and Julie (John) Otzelberger of Waukesha, WI; grandchildren, Collin (Brooke) Floeter, Kelly (Scott) Lewandowski, and Corrin (Charles) Wilson, Jarred and Kalyn Otzelberger, Elizabeth and Emma-Kate Thelke; five great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Landon Floeter, Brody and Rowen Wilson, and George Lewandowski; a sister, Carol Albrecht of North Fond du Lac, WI; three brothers, Reinhard (Kaye) Albrecht of Oshkosh, Edward Albrecht and Robert (Joann) Albrecht all of Van Dyne, WI; sisters-in-law, Ruth Albrecht and Florence (James) Williams of Fond du Lac, WI, and Ruth (Lyle) Hart of Black River Falls, WI; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; her parents, Edward and Verona; three sisters, Holdina Koudal, Luella Schumacher, and Laverna Sonnenberg, five brothers, Carl Albrecht, who died in infancy, Wilbur (Betty) Albrecht, David Albrecht, Arno (Bess) Albrecht, and Dale (Patricia) Albrecht.

A visitation for Lois will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Friday, May 26, 2017, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI, 54971.

A memorial service for Lois will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 26, 2017, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Beaton officiating. Inurnment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date. A memorial is being established in her name.
