Consumers today are demanding higher-quality, more nutritional dairy products that offer higher levels of protein, beta-carotene and Vitamins A and D than the average milk supply. The presence of the A2 gene in such a high percentage of the breed makes the gentle and docile Guernsey the one to provide everything the consumer desires.
Group member Brent Clements shares, “The mission of the Guernsey Promotion Group is to connect those who are ready to invest in future of the Guernsey breed with those offering top genetics for sale through various sales.” The inaugural event being hosted by the group to promote the Guernsey breed will be the Global Guernsey Promotion Sale, held July 25, 2015 in Viroqua, WI.
In addition to assisting in marketing, the group considers promotion of the breed and increasing awareness and interest in all the things Guernseys can offer a priority. The group is looking to create a resurgence of the Guernsey breed, increasing the breed population globally.
