Mastermind Has Positive Results in German Sire Summaries

MASTERRIND had a very positive April 2015 Sire Summary and continues to provide numerous Top sires,in both, the MASTERPROVEN and MASTERGEN categories, as well as many high ranking new graduates helping to improve the genetic superiority of our customers herds.

MASTERPROVEN:
Despite the significant base change in Germany a larger number of MASTERPROVEN sires maintained or even exceeded their last genetic data in multiple areas. Three of the Top-5 daughter proven sires with over 500 daughters in milk originating from the successful MASTERRIND breeding program!

In #2 position of Germany’s 99% reliability category arrived Mowambo (Moscow x Goldwyn x Ronald x Novalis x Jabot), MASTERRIND’s outcross and fitness specialist who added 719 new daughters this round increasing 2 points in RZM (132) and another 3 points in RZG to 135, placing him #21 of the overall German Top rankings (GTPI 1964). MASTERRIND’s popular Planet son Pioneer (Planet x Shottle x Durham) added even 1629 daughters in Germany and the USA overcoming the base adjustments almost without changes and taking #5 position of Germany’s high reliability sires. Pioneer proved to make profitable dairy cows, with a strong will to milk, great legs and excellent udders. With their pleasing temperament and great ability to get in calve quickly Pioneer truly became a customer’s favorite (RZG 134, RZR 116; GTPI 2145, FI 2.4). Germany’s highest Baxter son Bakombre (Baxter x Goldwyn Destiny x A-L-H Oman Destiny x Markwell Durham Daisy) also remained in the German Top 3 for high reliability sires based on an remarkable milk & protein performance of over 300 added daughters (RZG 135, RZM 131, 2121 TPI).

A big winner this round is the outcross specialist Jucator (Jeeves x Buckeye x Titanic) from the Braedale Gypsy Grand family who added 94 daughters in production in April. Contrary to the base change reduction he rose 2 points in RZG and 2 points in RZE (type) to move up into #6 position of the overall RZG rankings (RZG 140, TPI 2222). Jucator makes profitable freestall cows, which impress with great milk production, excellent mobility and quality udders. They keep sufficient body condition during lactation and breed back very quickly. The unique combination of an outcross pedigree, high production, and superb fertility scores makes him a great all-round package most dairy producers are looking for.

Last rounds new arrival HMO Monreal (Man-O-Man x Shottle x Lukas) added a huge number of over 1700 daughters in production this round. He lost more than the base change for milk, while holding firm in type and increasing in udder health and longevity. A possible reason for his milk proof change could be the fact that most farmers calving Monreal daughters very early, taking advantage of their early maturity and growth rates. With the incredible power, width and strength he transmits to his daughters Monreal is a true body trait improver. Above that he is a reliable source of milk solids from well-attached udders, which show an ideal teat placement and desirable teat length (RZG 126, RZE 127, TPI 2013, PTAT 2.10).

The highest debuting young sire graduate is the Gerard son Wendland Holsteins Genesis (Gerard x Mascol x Laudan x Convincer) who penetrated into the German Top 10 in April as #7 sire with an outstanding 140 RZG. Genesis has been a popular genomic young bull with already high sons in the genomic rankings and is backed by the well-respected cow family of Airliner Janin EX-90. It’s the same family as our high second crop bull Jobess. The medium-stature, uniform Genesis daughters are built to last under all management conditions. They have enough strength, great feet and legs and show outstanding udders, with good udder texture & attachments as well as an ideal teat placement suitable also for robot-milking. This easy calving bull will continue to add many more daughters and is with his great combination of an alternative pedigree, production and fitness one of the most interesting new MASTERPROVEN sires (RZM 127, TPI 2066).

A strong debut in Germany was made by the interesting Man-O-Man son Manouk (Man-O-Man x Goldwyn x Outside) who is a member of the evolving cow family of Rabur Outside Pandora EX-91. Manouk confirmed his genomic predictions perfectly as he transmits great milk solids from quality udders and combines that with super values for calving ease, and particularly for sire and daughter fertility. Manouk is capable to breed easy manageable, trouble-free cows with plenty of width and strength and clean bones to perform well under all kind of farm environments (RZG 132, TPI 1989, PTAT 1.33).

The Elite Red Sire Future Dream H Amor-Red (Lawn Boy x Goldwyn x Durham) from the Kamps-Hollow Durham Altitude family added almost 300 new daughters and remained as #3 of the Red &White Top list in Germany (RZG 133, 1892 TPI). His early, uniform Red daughter group made a nice presence at the Show of the Best in February 2015 showcasing the quality and developing potential of his daughters.
Breeders looking to improve components, dairyness and overall udder quality should be using this bull! Above that he is a calving ease and high sire fertility sire and carries the Kappa-Casein genotype BB.

MASTERGEN:
Three new MASTERGEN bulls arrived in the German genomic Top 10 in April! Catapulting himself in third place with an exceptional RZG of 161 is RR Bestboss (Boss x Maxim x Shottle), a thrilling Boss son who originates from the well-known Broeks MBM Elsa EX-90-family. His Shottle grand dam, RR Elisa EX-90 is a half-sister to the popular proven sire Snowman. With his impressive figures all across the board, Bestboss will be used as Sire of sons in many breeding programs (RZM 143, RZE 136).

Right behind him at #4 position arrived with Beatstick (Balisto x Gold Chip x Billion) our leading Balisto son backed by the popular genomic cow family of Bersaglio HF Qualsiasi (S. Oman) from Italy. Beatstick ranks high on several genomic Top lists in Europe and transmits superior milk solids along with great type and excellent fitness traits (RZG 161, RZE 132). With Baroy (Balisto x Snowman x Shottle) in #8 position at 160 RZG and Stantons Brayden (Balisto x Man-O-Man x Shottle) in #14 position at 157 RZG, MASTERRIND offers two more new and complete Balisto sons in the German Top 15 RZG rankings from Elite international cow families. The genomic giant Anderstrup Snow Heaven VG-87, one of Snowman’s best daughters leaving chart-topping progeny in all systems, is the dam of Baroy and also the dam of the
recent German #1 bull Cinema as well as his full-brother Anderstrup Chrysler (S. Chevrolet, RZG 156, #23 in the Top list) at MASTERRIND. Stantons Brayden’s grand dam is no less than Gen-I-Beq Shottle Bombi EX-92, who is also the dam of Canada’s leading LPI proven sire Brewmaster (RZM 141, GTPI 2483).

MASTERRIND’s last round hot new graduates Sunview Gold Dolph (Liquid Gold x Snowman x Atwood) from the famous Roxy family and EDG Livermore (Liquid Gold x Domain x Jeeves) from the popular Kevrel Shottle May EX-94 family both held firm and rank as Germany’s #1 and #2 Liquid Gold sons equal at RZG 155. Both Elite MASTERGEN sires combine their distinguished pedigrees with an exceptional transmission of milk solids, excellent type and superior health traits.

Professor (Predestine x Man-O-Man x Shottle) is the highest German son of Predestine arriving at #27 of the overall RZG rankings and hailing back from a popular Danish branch of the US family of Dyks Rudolph Cali EX-92. His breeding characteristics include good production, a great udder score plus outstanding values for longevity and particularly daughter conception. (RZG 155, RZR 130).

The heavily used MASTERGEN type sires McCoy (Mc Cutchen x Atwood x Shottle) from the Regancrest Barbie family (RZE 143, PTAT 3.03), Mozarella (Mogul x Destry x Baxter) from the Ralma Juror Faith family (RZE 141) or Doreno (Doorman x Freddie x Toystory) (135 RZE) from the cow family of Windsor-Manor Rudolph Zip all held strong and continue to rank among Germany’s leading sires for conformation.

The major news, however, is the arrival of several new heterozygous and specifically homozygous MASTERGEN sires in the Polled category. The bull to be named first is Eraldo PP (Esperado P x Bookem x Mr. Sam ) who is homozygous Polled while free of Lawnboy and Mitey P blood and impresses with good values on both, the European and North American base (RZG 135, RZE 131, GTPI 2164). Another interesting homozygous recruit is Eraldo’s maternal brother Kid Red PP, who is an early son of Kanu P and offers an appealing blend of production, type and fitness (RZG 133). Another hot new graduate to the homozygous group is Ed Red PP (Esperado P x Laron P x Germano), whose remarkable April figures are highlighted by a fantastic conformation score of 140 RZE which ranks him as Germany’s forth highest Polled Holstein sire for type right behind the well-used MASTERGEN bull Lord Red P (Ladd P x Shottle x Rubens). The two Red Carriers Nosbisch Holsteins Gero P RDC (Galaxy x Bogart x Lawnboy; RZG 145) and Germany’s #2 Polled conformation sire Hartford Long Sveen P RDC (Long P x Epic x Des-Y-Gen Planet Silk EX-90; RZG 144, RZE 142, GTPI 2240) do complement the powerful MASTERGEN offering for Polled genetics.

The highly demanded Sire of sons Stantons Eloped-Red (Sympatico x Alchemy x Wabash-Way Emilyann VG-88.) leads our remarkable group of Red genomic sires (RZG 158, GTPI 2329) in April followed by the popular Sympatico full bothers Step Red (RZG 151, GTPI 2289) and Sunny Red (RZG 141, RZE 128) from the well-known Curr-Vale Goldwyn Delicious *RC EX-94 family which both boast incredible milk proofs along with good type & desirable health traits. A hot new genomic arrival in the Red category is EHL Poker Red, who arrived in #12 position among the German Red genomic bulls and displays the complete package of components, type, fitness and again the family of Des-Y-Gen Planet Silk EX-90 (RZG 151, RZE 122).
