The Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity is hosting the third-annual Dairy Dash 5K Fun Run the morning of May 1 along the Lakeshore Path of the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. All proceeds from the event benefit the Brain Injury Association of America in memory of John Klossner of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin.
The philanthropic event is a way for the community and the brothers of the fraternity to remember Klossner, a member of Alpha Gamma Rho who passed away as a result of a brain trauma sustained from an accident at the Wisconsin State Fair in August 2013.
“We feel so blessed that the members of (Alpha Gamma Rho) came together to do this,” said Kristin Klossner, his sister.
Klossner would have graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in dairy science this May.
“After losing John, I learned how close of a family the agriculture industry is,” Kristin Klossner said. “I think he is with us every time we are at the Dairy Dash. We love what the brothers have done and continue to do. The Dairy Dash helps to bring people together.”
