At the start of the trade fair, one sees our association committed to realising the familiar National show of Italian Holstein Friesians, now in its 64th edition and enriched, also this year, with major events to stimulate and increase the interest of farmers, technicians and the increasingly large public audience.
We note with satisfaction, an important participation in terms of farms and animals also for this edition, a tangible sign of a passion that remains alive in years. More than 370 animals are registered for the event by 74 participating farms from 19 provinces which are increasing numbers compared with previous years.
The year 2015 will be characterized by the 4th Open Junior Show open to young European farmers, which this year registered a record attendance of 36 young breeders (junior and senior) from 11 countries.
The young participants will compete in the Open Junior Show shearing, conducting, and evaluating tests and in a quiz on livestock subjects.
On the evening of Friday 30 October, the Italian Style Sale will be held, an international auction with 20 animals of excellent quality that can catch the interest of many farmers attending the Fair.
Also this year the 4th edition of the National Jersey show will be held, another event that is demonstrating continuity in the context of the international fair and has record participation numbers, increasing compared with the previous edition.
New this year is the alternation of the categories between Holstein Friesian and Jersey on the days of Friday 30 October with the heifers and Saturday 31 October with the cows, the main day which will end with the announcement of the champions of the show.
