Grassland Dairy and the Wuethrich family announced an increase in their original support for the UW-River Falls Dairy Plant renovation project, bringing their total contribution to $1 million. The Dairy Plant will now be known as the Wuethrich Family/Grassland Dairy Center of Excellence.
Trevor Wuethrich, President of Grassland Dairy equated “excellence” with the people. He was most pleased to be honoring their family with the new name including his brother Tayt and father Dallas, along with their family of Grassland employees which include a number of UW-RF alumni, some of whom were on hand for the announcement. John Umhoefer, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association described Grassland as the “quarterback” in the team effort of the industry to reinvest in the UW-RF facility for the future of the industry.
Headquartered in Greenwood, Wisconsin, Grassland Dairy started crafting butter in 1904 and is now run by the fifth generation of the Wuethrich family. For many decades the family was also well-known for their prominent Registered Holstein herd that carried the Distinction prefix.
