Groundbreaking Sale Held to Connect Buyers and Sellers of Elite Guernsey Genetics
Viroqua, WI: The world will focus on the Guernsey breed the last weekend in July. All eyes will turn to the Vernon County Fairgrounds in Viroqua, WI for the Global Guernsey Promotion Sale. Hailed as an event to celebrate and enhance the growing demand for Guernsey genetics throughout the world, the sale will commence at 11:00AM on Saturday July 25, 2015.
Group member Brent Clements shares, “These are exciting times for the Guernsey breed. Consumers are demanding higher-quality, more nutritional dairy products with increased levels of protein, beta-carotene and vitamins A and D than the average milk supply. The A2 gene, carried by over 90 percent of the Guernsey breed, is responsible for making milk that is exactly what the consumer has ordered. With the increasing research on the A2 gene, the sky is really the limit for this breed. The sale is being managed by The Guernsey Promotion Group, and will feature live Guernseys of all ages, as well as embryo packages, which will be of interest to both domestic and international buyers. Consignments of individuals and groups, as well as embryos, are currently being sought for this unique sale.
