Creedin Cornman Obituary

Creedin Cornman, 93, passed away peacefully in his home on February 8, 2024, in Mt. Holly Springs, PA.

Creedin was born on April 2, 1930, in Silver Spring Twp., PA, to Clarence and Anna (Rutz) Cornman. He was married to the Late Ellen M. (Westbrook) Cornman.

Creedin and his wife were the owners of Justa-Beauty Holsteins.  He was a member of the National Holstein Association, Pennsylvania Holstein Association, and a member of the Cumberland County Holstein Association where he was on the Board and held several offices.  For many years, he enjoyed being the barn manager for the Penn State Nittany Lion Fall Classic Sale.  Well known as a dairy cattle judge, he officiated at many local, regional and state dairy shows.   He served on the Cumberland County Extension Board of Directors, Carlisle Fair Dairy Committee, and as a 4-H Dairy Leader for many years.  He was a fitter for the East Coast Fitters and loved traveling to sales and shows with them.  Creedin was the recipient of the American Farmer Award in 1948, he was inducted into the Pennsylvania Holstein Hall of Fame in 1996 and was the recipient of the Pennsylvania All-American Dairy Show Obie Snider Award.

He was active in the South Middleton Fire Company where he drove the ambulance and fire apparatus.   Creedin was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church and also Otterbein United Methodist and Barnitz Church.

A past member of the Bubbler Foundation and former member of the Mechanicsburg Men’s Club.  He graduated from Mechanicsburg High School Class of 1948 and was also a strong supporter of the Boiling Springs Bubblers where he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in sports.

He is survived by two children: Steven (Debbie) Cornman of Boiling Springs, PA., Sharon (Jeff) Giselman, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA., brother Clarence M. Cornman Jr. of Shippensburg, PA., sister Emma F. Crouse of Charleston, WV., five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers: Lee and Paul Cornman.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday February 13, 2024, at Hoffman Funeral and Crematory with Pastor Matthew Plant officiating.  A viewing will be held on Monday February 12, 2024, from 4:00-8:00PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will directly follow the service at Westminster Cemetery in Carlisle, PA.
