We are delighted to announce the addition of Sophie Leach to the Cowsmopolitan team as the 2023 Summer Intern!
Sophie’s passion for all things agriculture and experience within the dairy industry make her an undeniable asset. She hails from her family’s 35-head Holstein and Jersey operation, Lin-Crest Farm, in Linwood, Kansas where she is the fifth generation. Sophie’s no stranger to the show circuit, having spent many summers working shows across the Midwest. In 2022, her homebred aged cow, LC Success Abilene, was named Reserve Senior Champion and Honorable Mention Grand Champion of the International Junior Jersey Show.
Currently a freshman at Kaskaskia Community College in southern Illinois, Sophie is pursuing studies in Ag Business and Dairy Science and participates on the dairy judging team. She works as a farm assistant at Carter’s Corner Holsteins in her free time. Following graduation, Sophie plans on transferring to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where she will complete her degree.
In her role as Summer 2023 Intern, Sophie will broaden her skillset in editorial and web content, event coverage and design while also attending events throughout the country where she’ll engage with dairy enthusiasts alike.
