Early Sunday morning saw every farmer’s worst nightmare – Cedar Valley was on fire. As our facility became engulfed in flames within minutes, quick work by the barn crew got animals out as phone calls went out for more help.
Now that the smoke has settled we are feeling overwhelmed, grateful and humbled.
To the Abbotsford Fire Departments, multiple other fire departments, and Abbotsford Police Department – words cannot express our thankfulness for your work, co-ordination, and tireless efforts to keep the situation controlled.
To the multiple dairy service companies – Thank You! Your willingness to go above and beyond was key in allowing the day to move forward in caring for the cattle.
To the 100+ neighbors, family, friends and dairy community – WOW. We are so humbled by your generosity to help in whatever way possible; bringing cattle trailers, herding cows, bringing water and food, and just overall support. Showing up immediately with no hesitation or questions – we as a family are overwhelmed.
Regrouping from this chaos, we feel stronger because of the support of our community.
