The All-American Dairy Show is seeking applicants for a part-time Youth Event Coordinator to manage the show’s Premier National Junior Events beginning in 2014.
The annual all-youth show attracts more than 1,000 participants from across the nation during the All-American Dairy Show at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.
The youth event coordinator executes seven national junior breed shows, the supreme champion pageant and opening ceremonies and secures judges, photographers, announcers and check-in crews.
Fundraising is a critical component of the position, including securing funds for awards, recognitions and prizes for class winners and champions, thank-you gifts, and show-day lunches.
The coordinator is responsible for show communications including input on the premium list, news releases, advertisements and website development, updating social media, and other administrative duties.
Hired by and accountable to the Pennsylvania Dairy and Allied Industries Association board of directors, the coordinator will work closely with the All-American Dairy Show Manager.
The part-time position, based at the All-American Dairy Show office in Harrisburg, allows the coordinator to work remotely. The position begins Oct. 1, though the successful candidate is expected to attend the 2013 show in September.

The 2013 All-American Dairy Show is set for Sept. 7-12 and features 22 shows in six days in addition to the nation’s only all-dairy antiques show. Last year’s event featured nearly 2,500 animals and more than 900 exhibitors from across the nation.
