University of Minnesota Makes It Back-to-Back Collegiate Victories at 2015 All-American Dairy Show

Harrisburg – The University of Minnesota, Ohio State University – Agricultural Technical Institute, New York 4-H and Ohio FFA won each of their respective divisions at the 2015 All-American Dairy Judging Contest held on September 14 at the Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.

 

Contestants judged 10 classes of cattle and then gave oral reasons on four or five of the classes depending on their division.  The top five individuals and teams were recognized in each division for specific breed performance, oral reasons and overall results.

Results of the 2015 All-American Judging Contest:

Collegiate Division
The University of Minnesota, with team members Nathan Donnay, Dane Thompson, Eric Houdek and Vincent Migliazzo, won the 2015 All-American Dairy Judging Contest for the second year in a row. They are coached by Les Hansen.
2nd – University of Wisconsin-River Falls
3rd – Cornell University
4th – University of Wisconsin-Madison
5th – Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University

Top Five Colligate individuals:
1st – Vincent Migliazzo, University of Minnesota
2nd – Jacob Pintens, University of Wisconsin-River Falls
3rd – Mariah Fjarlie, University of Wisconsin-Madison
4th – Nathan Donnay, University of Minnesota
5th – Annie Rose Achen, Purdue University

Junior Collegiate Division
Ohio State University-Agricultural Technical Institute, composed of Tanner Topp, Kaleb Kliner, Hannah Dye and Josh Paulin, won the Junior Collegiate Division at the 2015 All-American Dairy Judging Contest. They are coached by Don Hange.
2nd – Kaskaskia College
3rd – SUNY Cobleskill
4th – Modesto Junior College
5th – Alfred State College

Top Five Junior College individuals:
1st – Jaycie Staring, SUNY Cobleskill
2nd – Hannah Dye, Ohio State University-Agricultural Technical Institute
3rd – Tanner Topp, Ohio State University-Agricultural Technical Institute
4th – Emily Irwin, Kaskaskia College
5th – Kaleb Kliner, Ohio State University-Agricultural Technical Institute

4-H Division
New York 4-H composed of Allison Herrick, Joshua Chisholm, Mary Sweeney and Bryce Windecker won the 4-H Division at the 2015 All-American Dairy Judging Contest.  They are coached by Douglas Waterman.
2nd – Wisconsin 4-H
3rd – Minnesota 4-H
4th – Pennsylvania 4-H
5th – Indiana 4-H

Top Five 4-H Individuals:
1st – Avery Kotlarczyk, Florida 4-H
2nd – Collin Wille, Wisconsin 4-H
3rd – Allsion Herrick, New York 4-H
4th – Mary Sweeney, New York 4-H
5th – Daniel Kitchen, Pennsylvania 4-H

FFA Division
The Ohio FFA team of Jason Jenkins, Regina Miller, Becca Vales and William Hughes won the overall FFA Division at the 2015 All-American Dairy Judging Contest. They are coached by Jamie Chenevey.

4th – Virginia FFA
5th – Indiana FFA

The 52nd All-American Dairy Show, the world’s largest dairy show, runs September 12-17 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg. This year’s show features 22 shows in six days, the nation’s only all-dairy antiques show, nearly 2,800 animals and more than 1,300 exhibitors from across the nation.
