Brito to Lead Quality Assurance for STg™

NAVASOTA, Texas — Veterinarian and animal reproduction specialist Dr. Leonardo Brito has joined livestock reproductive services leader STgenetics(STg) as Director of Global Quality Assurance.
In his new position, Brito will oversee laboratory processes and procedures to ensure that products coming out of STg’s facilities around the world meet the company’s high quality standards.
Brito has 18 years of experience in animal reproduction research, production of biological materials, clinical practice and teaching in industry and academic settings. Before joining STg, he was a research scientist and U.S. production laboratory manager with bovine genetics and reproductive services provider ABS Global. For the past two years he has also served as associate editor of the Theriogenology Journal, a prestigious peer-­‐reviewed journal for researchers, clinicians and industry professionals involved in animal reproductive biology. During his career, Brito has published numerous scholarly book chapters and peer-­‐reviewed papers and presented research results at several professional conferences.
Brito received his veterinary medicine degree from Federal University of Uberlandia in Brazil. He also earned a master’s degree in animal reproduction from Sao Paulo State University in Brazil, and a master’s degree in veterinary science and doctorate in animal reproduction, both from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada.
