Ferme Jacobs raised a lot of eyebrows when they announced they would be traveling across the continent to attend the BC Spring Show and also hold a tag sale while in Chilliwack, BC! A 4750 kilometer (2950 mile) journey demands real dedication and a real plan, but the Ferme Jacobs crew was up to the challenge!
Of the 20 head offered in the Tag Sale catalog, 10 sold on the opening day of the sale, including the high sellers:
Lot 1 – $20,000 – Jacobs Doorman Better, a 9/17 Doorman fall yearling due to Lautrust in July – in time for the Milking Yearling class for the fall shows. Out of an EX-91 Goldwyn (full sister to Jacobs Goldwyn Britany EX-96 2E 11*), Better is backed by six more VG & EX dams.

Lot 16 – $20,000 – Jacobs Gold Chip Abbie VG-87, a 4-year-old Gold Chip daughter fresh November, 2018 out of an EX-91 2* Dundee, then an EX-2E Leo.

Lot 17 – $18,000 – Jacobs Brady Alira VG-88, a 4-year-old Brady out of a VG-86 Jordan dam back to EX-92 2E 9* Jacobs Spirit Valsie. A sharp purchase as Alira won the 4-year-old class as well as claiming HM Grand Champion honors at the show the next day!

Lot 18 – $15,000 – Jacobs Kingboy Bonny VG-85, a Kingboy senior 2-year-old fresh in December out of a VG-87 Alexander dam, then seven more VG & EX dams – same cow family as Goldwyn Britany!
Buyer: Westcoast Holsteins, BC
The ten head sold on the first day averaged $10,250 and the remaining ten head were then consigned to the Westcoast Classic Sale on Thursday, March 21st.
