Steve Howard passes away

Steve Howard, from Deerfield, WI, age 59, passed away on Thursday, October 16th, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born on November 2nd, 1954 in Aurora, IL to Merle and Verona Howard. He married Mary Hanson on July 31st, 1982 at Ebenezer Moravian Church in Watertown, WI.

Steve graduated from Watertown High School and received his bachelors of science degree in dairy science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1977. He had a long standing career in the dairy industry being most recently employed with Madison based Bio-Vet. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family; beautifying his yard; and cheering for his beloved Wisconsin Badgers. Steve’s greatest joy was sharing his life with his cherished wife.

Steve is survived by his wife; son Bryan (Kristin) Howard of Chicago; son Eric Howard of Minneapolis; brother Dick (Billie) Howard of Greensboro, NC; sister Carol Howard of Fort Atkinson; brother Tom (Deb) Howard of Ellsworth, WI; parents-in-law Ray and Joan Hanson of Madison; sister-in-law Beth Hanson of Madison; sister-in-law Jean Hanson of Oconomowoc; granddaughter Mae Howard; and by his nephew and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Roni And Merle and brother Robert Howard.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25th at 12:00PM at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown, WI. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home from 10:00 to noon, preceding the service. Steve’s family also invites all to a celebration of life at On the Rock restaurant in Watertown following the service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to the National Brain Tumor Society or Rainbow Hospice of Johnson Creek. In honor of Steve’s favorite team visitors are welcome to wear Badger-red to the memorial service
