Obituary for Vickie Martzahn, Davenport, IAVickie N. Martzahn, 71, of Davenport passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Genesis East. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the family for the charity of family’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. She was born on May 10, 1945 in West Liberty, IA daughter of Virgil Nauman and Carla Christensen and Bud Phend. Vickie Nauman was united in marriage to Richard Martzahn on September 5, 1975 in Davenport. He preceded her in death in December of 2008. Vickie was employed with the Davenport School System as a Para Educator. She adored the special education students she worked with. Vickie was known for her very generous personality, giving to everyone, whether she knew them or not. She loved reading. She will be remembered as the life of the party and an “old hippie”. Her favorite word was “Peace”. Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Tammy (Douglas) Canada, Davenport, and Tina Jarvis, Tucson, AZ; granddaughters, Lauren and Lindsey Heidt; two great grandsons, Dorian and Declan; brother Kelly (Sandy) Phend, FL, Perry (Lori) Phend, WI; sister, Penny (Mike) Cmehil, OH; nieces and nephews, Garry Toliver, Teri Toliver, Michael Toliver, Sara Toliver and Jody Teepe, Kyle Phend, Kandy Lange, Angela Selchter, Daniel Palmer, Michael Cmehil, Doug Cmehil, Steven Cmehil, Jeremy Cmehil, and Katie Phend. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Priscilla Toliver and brother, Marvin Daulfeldt.
