Rachel Lokai of Urbana, Ohio has been selected as the recipient of the 2020 Marshall E. McCullough Scholarships given in memory of Marshall McCullough, the well-respected nutrition researcher and educator from Georgia. This scholarship is presented to a college freshman attending a four-year college or university majoring in an agricultural communications or journalism.
Rachel will be receiving a $1,000 scholarship for tuition at the Ohio State University, where she is majoring in Animal Science with an emphasis on communication and marketing. She has been active in dairy cattle judging for over 10 years with high individual and team success. Rachel has also been very involved in FFA, being a chapter officer, attending both state and national FFA conventions and competing in CDE state and national competitions. Rachel states that “Agricultural communicators are important because they provide essential information to consumers and producers.” Rachel is an excellent student seeking a future role in dairy related mass communications as Dr McCullough desired.
