Jersey Canada Scholarship and Award Deadlines are Approaching

The 2023 Jersey Canada Youth Scholarship deadline is Friday, September 8th!

The 2023 Jersey Canada Youth Scholarship offers three $1,000 scholarships to Canadian students passionate about the Jersey breed and agriculture. Open to those in their second year of post-secondary study, the scholarships will be awarded at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.

2023 Cliff Berry Award Nominations Reminder

The Berry Family invites applications for the second annual Clifton Berry Ambassador Award, in memory of Clifton Berry, to be presented during the National Jersey Show at the 2023 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.

The ideal candidate is a highly respected leader in the Jersey community, demonstrating dedication and commitment to the breed. You have exhibited regularly at Jersey shows, represented the breed as an official judge, and actively mentored other breeders. As an avid promoter of the Jersey breed, you have participated in association activities and events, exemplifying exceptional leadership qualities.

Applications are invited before September 30, 2023. Please note the existing applications from 2022 will still be considered and if you would like to revise your outstanding application you may.

Curtis Clark Achievement Award Nominations Sought for 2023

Nominations for the 2023 Curtis Clark Achievement Award are currently being sought. Presented at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, ON, the Curtis Clark Award goes to the Canadian dairy cattle exhibitor who possesses the ability, sportsmanship and character necessary to be respected by their fellow breeders and exhibitors. The award, established in 1988, is sponsored by the Alberta Holstein Branch.

To be eligible for the Curtis Clark Achievement Award, the nominee must be an “active” Canadian show person, breeder or manager of any dairy cattle breed who is exhibiting animals at major shows in Canada. The person “must be present” at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair to accept the award. Nominees will be judged on their support of breed activities and ability to breed, manage, develop and exhibit dairy cattle. Selection of the winner is made by former recipients of the award. The 2023 winner will be announced during the Royal’s National Holstein Show set to take place on November 9th and 10th.
