Starting in 2022, the “Drive to Excellence, Caleb McGee Memorial Award” will be granted to a well-rounded Pennsylvania Junior Holstein member who exhibits excellence both in and out of the ring.
Caleb McGee was an active member of the dairy industry. He enjoyed participating in many facets of Junior Holstein, including the show ring, judging, and Junior Holstein contests. He was also actively involved in his church, where he would also display his passion for his musical talents. Caleb achieved a high level of success, breeding and developing his herd, Dayspring Holsteins. His bred and owned heifer Dayspring Diamond Jingle was named unanimous All American Winter Yearling in 2018.
In order to qualify for the award:
- Applications must be submitted by September 1st.
- Applicants must be ages 16-21 by January 1st.
- Applicant must be present at the Premier Junior National show and be exhibiting at least one of their own Holsteins or Red & White Holsteins.
The award will be a $500 cash prize, presented at the PJNS and selected by an anonymous committee.
