Every year, DFC donates milk to food banks to help the least fortunate and, with the approach of the 2013 holiday period, it is the Maritime Provinces’ turn to benefit from the generosity of the DFC staff.

Thanks to the silent auction held during the staff Christmas party, DFC collected $1,600, which went to the purchase of 1,047 litres of milk.

This year, DFC donated milk to the New Brunswick Food Bank Association, to the PEI Association of Food Banks and to Feed Nova Scotia, which will distribute the milk within each of Canada’s east coast provinces. We thank the processors Scotsburn, Northumberland and ADL for their precious collaboration.

This is in addition to the DFC Christmas gift budget, and the many thousands of litres that dairy farmers donate to food banks across the country every year.

As a Maritimer, I want to thank the DFC staff, and all dairy farmers for their generosity!
