DCRC Webinar Addresses Ovsynch Programs

Richard Pursley, Michigan State University (MSU) professor of animal science, will provide an update on ovulation synchronization (Ovsynch) programs during the next Dairy Cattle Reproduction Council (DCRC) webinar. Scheduled for April 28, at 1 p.m. Central Time, attendees will learn how to enhance dairy cattle pregnancy rates via Ovsynch.

Pursley and his team at MSU developed a new pre-synchrony method, G6G, which improves synchronization outcomes to Ovsynch and allows more cows a chance to become pregnant. In two studies, G6G outperformed traditional Ovsynch. Adding G6G to an already present Ovsynch program should help optimize timed AI in lactating dairy cows, according to the research.
