Illinois Cow Tops the National Open Milking Shorthorn Show 2013

Halpins Mona II, exhibited by Mike Halpin of Kempton, Ill., was named the Grand and Senior Champion Milking Shorthorn of the All-American Milking Shorthorn Show, held Sept. 10-11 at the 2013 All-American Dairy Show in Harrisburg.

Todd Moore of Plano, Texas, earned Reserve Grand Champion Milking Shorthorn with Tex-Star Othello Peri. “Peri” rose above the others as Reserve Senior Champion and winner of the 6 Years Old and Older class.

Intermediate Champion, R-Generation Poker Miley-EXP, exhibited by Jason and Jessica Kennedy of Cochranton, Pa., was the first place Junior 2-Year-Old.

Exhibitors Keith and Donnette Fisher of New Enterprise, Pa., exhibited Springhill Moonshine Fire-EXP, the Reserve Intermediate Champion and winning Junior 3-Year-Old.

Buckeye Knoll Plum Amazing EXP ET, exhibited by Sarah Rhoades of Greenville, Ohio, finished the show as the Junior Champion and first place Winter Yearling. She also had the Junior Best Three Females Bred and Owned.

Hannah Rhodes of Greenville, Ohio, held the Reserve Junior Champion heifer, also the winning Spring Yearling. Hannah also displayed the Best Three Junior Females at the Open Show.
