New York Cow Brings Home Big Win in Harrisburg National Brown Swiss Show 2013

Cutting Edge B Gretchen ET, exhibited by Peter Vail of Copake Falls, N.Y., was named the Brown Swiss Grand and Senior Champion of the Open Show, held Sept. 10-11, at the 2013 All-American Dairy Show in Harrisburg.

“This cow displays the best quality udder,” said show judge Eric Troop. “She is deep, long and extremely dairy. She’s just a beautiful cow.”

Ben Sparrow of Owenton, Ky., earned Reserve Grand Champion with Frosted Sieg Wammy ET, also the Reserve Senior Champion and winning 5-Year-Old.

The Junior 3-Year-Old, Top Acres Garbo Wanda-ET exhibited by Brian Sparling of Ralston, Pa., was named the Intermediate Champion.

Darrin Hill of Cattaraugus, N.Y., exhibited the Reserve Intermediate Champion Cutting Edge S Tease, also the first place Junior 2-Year-Old.

Jeffery McKissick of New Castle, Pa., showed the Junior Champion Dochaven Pete Snickers, also the Best Fall Calf. He also earned the Best Junior Female Bred and Owned at this year’s show.

Reserve Junior Champion went to Dylan Coleman of Ronks, Pa., with his first place Winter Yearling, PA Lyn-Leigh Denver Topsy.
