Jocelyn Lambert of Middlesex 4-H Association received the 2025 Bertram and Hazel Stewart 4-H Dairy Youth Education Award and a $1,000 bursary.
“My experience in the Glencoe 4-H Dairy Club has deepened my appreciation for agriculture and the hard work behind it,” said Lambert during the Nov. 11 award presentation at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
“It’s not just about caring for animals, it’s about dedication, responsibility, and recognizing the role farming plays in supporting communities.”
Lambert’s 4-H career began in the Cloverbud program and has included completing 15 projects and participating in provincial events such as Discovery Days, Youth Adventure Camp, and the provincial 4-H Leadership Camp.
The award honours Bertram and Hazel Stewart’s dedication and passion for agriculture education and 4-H. It is available to any 4-H participant in good standing from Grades 9 to 11 who has indicated an intention to pursue post-secondary studies.
“Mom and Dad’s passion for 4-H, education, and agriculture will now carry on for years to come,” said Kelly Stewart-French of the award her parents established in 2011.
Theresa Wever, Ontario 4-H Foundation chair, said it’s these types of Foundation partnerships that enable continued support for youth development through the 4-H program.
