Wisconsin Holstein Scholarship Applications Due March 1

BARABOO, WI – February 3, 2017 — The Wisconsin Holstein Association is seeking students enrolled in a four-year, one or two-year or short course or technical school ag-related program to apply for available scholarships

Wisconsin Holstein Scholarship Applications Due March 1 that range from $250 to $1000. All Wisconsin Holstein members are encouraged to apply for scholarships. Students majoring in agricultural degrees are given highest consideration, and non-agricultural majors that plan to have a career that contributes to rural communities also will be given consideration.

The Gordon Berg and Marlowe Nelson Memorial Scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in a technical college, two-year, or short course agriculture program in the amount of $1,000 each. The Doris Morris Memorial Scholarship and Bradley Fust Memorial Scholarship recipients also receive a $1,000. The John Klossner Memorial Scholarship and John Selz Memorial Scholarships will also be awarded in the amount of $1,000. New for 2017 is the Geraldine Cooper Memorial Scholarship, which will be awarded in the amount of $500.
Eligibility for all scholarships requires that applicants be a member of the Wisconsin Holstein Association at the time of application, enrolled in a four-year college, a one or two-year tech school, a short course program, or be a high school senior admitted into one of the before mentioned programs. Scholarships are capped at $1,000 per scholarship recipient. Previous winners who were awarded less than the $1,000 can apply again. In 2016, the Scholarship Committee awarded over $16,000 in scholarships to Wisconsin Holstein members.

Materials need to be postmarked by March 1, 2017, and mailed to the WI Holstein office at 902 Eighth Ave, Baraboo WI 53913.
