Western PA Holstein Championship Show Open To Out-Of-State Exhibitors & Open Jersey Show Added To Schedule

Holstein and Jersey exhibitors are invited to compete in the Western PA Championship Shows, set for July 18-19, at the Crawford County Fairgrounds in Meadville, Pennsylvania

An open Holstein show for out-of-state exhibitors has been added to run in conjunction with the sanctioned Pennsylvania Holstein Championship Show, and an open Jersey show has been added. A separate open Red & White Show will run concurrently with the black & whites. Details are as follows:

Jersey Show – Chair: Michelle Morian
Friday, July 18, at 1 p.m. – Open to junior and open show exhibitors (not a Pennsylvania-specific show).

Holstein Show – Chairs: Tom and Erin Uber
Saturday, July 19, at 9 a.m. – Open and Pennsylvania Holstein Association shows will run together, and Pennsylvania members (junior and open) will be distinguished from open show exhibitors.

Red & White Show – Chair: Kelly Clayton
Saturday, July 19, at 9 a.m. – Open to junior and open show exhibitors (not a Pennsylvania-specific show) and will alternate classes with the black & whites.

Youth Showmanship Contest – Chair: Jean Kummer
Friday, July 18, at 11 a.m. – Open to all youth with three age groups and a Pee-Wee class.

All entries for each breed will be made through the Showman App, with $10/head early entries due by July 9. Starting July 10, entries increase to $25/head. Pennsylvania Holstein exhibitors must designate their entries on the app and must be a current association member to compete (membership payment can be made onsite). Rudy Kiko from Salem, Ohio, will judge all three breeds.

Showmanship participants can also enter online or see Jean Kummer to sign up at the show.

Show rules and regulations, along with health requirements are also available on the Showman App, as well as show sponsorship opportunities.

The fairgrounds offer camping space for $35, and hotels are available in Meadville. The facilities are spacious and there is ample parking for vehicles and trailers.
