Producers considering precision dairy technologies will have much to see at the upcoming World Dairy Expo in Madison September 29 through October 3.
Not only has AMS-Galaxy-USA expanded its precision dairy offerings from the Galaxy Astrea 20.20 two-box milking robot and Urban CalfMom systems to include the Hetwin Stallboy feed pushers, Hetwin Astor robotic bedding delivery system and Hetwin Aramis II automatic TMR feeders, the company is also leading the way in fully-integrated mobile one-touch-screen Total Farm Automation.
“We’ve brought together all the pieces of seamless automatic milking and dairy management with unparalleled reliability, along with our open-door technical training philosophy that makes all the training our certified technicians receive available to owners of our systems from the first fully-automated robotic training center in the U.S.,” said Dennis Milhoan, AMS-Galaxy-USA president.
“In addition to our new robotic technologies, we are modularizing the input and output of information and controls so dairy producers can access and control all of their dairy equipment and facility systems from one touch screen interface developed and programmed by AMS Galaxy’s engineering department. ” said Brad Biehl, AMS-Galaxy-USA vice president of engineering and technology. “This is new to the industry to be able to use one touch-screen interface to link all sensors for monitoring equipment, refrigeration, cleaning, and precision dairy technology we have on the farm, and to be able to link that directly to the producer or manager’s smart phone.”
Biehl, an engineer who also operates a robotic dairy farm with his father, noted that the company continues to assemble and streamline automatic solutions that make sense with a primary focus on comfortable cows and high quality milk.
“We look at our systems pragmatically for efficiency and cost-effectiveness,” he added. “Affordability is important. We want precision dairy technologies to be within the reach of our customers, and we offer them the same training here at the AMS-Galaxy-USA Technology Center that we provide to our dealers’ certified technicians; so they have reliable systems they can operate and understand.”
World Dairy Expo attendees will have plenty of chances to learn more with 30-minute demonstration question-answer sessions at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the booth (TC 809-836) in the Trade Center. This will include the precision dairy features for complete automation of the milk cow facilities as well as new features of the Urban CalfMom systems and the upgraded MilkShuttle with pasteurizer on board.
In addition, a tour of Never Rest Farm, Watertown, Wis., is planned for Wednesday, September 30. The dairy, owned by Troy and Ashley Schlender, is a 6-row, 220-cow robotic facility featuring two Galaxy Astrea 20.20 double-box AMS systems. Cows are voluntarily milking an average three times per day producing over 90 pounds/cow/day.
The tour bus leaves from the booth at 4:15 p.m. and dinner will follow. To reserve a seat, email dennism@amsgalaxyusa.com.
