Three-Time US Jersey National Champion Ratliff Price Alicia Passes Away

It is with great sadness that we at Cowsmopolitan share the news of the passing of one of the all-time great Jersey show cows in the US. Ratliff Price Alicia EX95 passed away on March 24th, at nearly 12 and a half years of age.

Alicia earned household-name status when she became the only Jersey to be named a three-time National Champion at the All-American Jersey Show held each year in Louisville, KY, winning in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In addition, she remains the only two-time NAILE Supreme Champion, since the award was began in 2009.

Alicia was also a three-time AJCA and ABA All-American, including garnering Peoples Choice accolades in the 2010 ABA Contest, and being named the Unanimous ABA All-American Senior 3 Year Old in 2008. In addition, she was the Reserve Grand Champion at the World Dairy Expo in 2009 as a 4 Year Old. As a Senior 2 Year Old, Alicia was named Reserve All-American. She was also nominated ABA All-American as a Milking Yearling in 2006.

In addition to her show ring accomplishments, Alicia is proving herself as a brood cow. She is the dam of a total of 15 Excellent offspring and 16 scored VG85 and higher. Her highest scoring daughters include Ratliff Action Angel EX94 (2012 AJCA & ABA All-American Milking Yearling), Ratliff Sambo Aspen EX93, Ratliff Tequila Avelanche EX93 and Ratliff Amadeo Acacia EX92. In addition to these four cows, Alicia has five daughters scored EX91 and six scored EX90. She has three daughters scored VG89, seven scored VG88, three scored VG87, one at VG86 and two at VG85.

She was bred and owned her entire life by Ron & Christy Ratliff of Garnett, KS. She is a daughter of Ratliff Jade Price (Jade x First Prize from the Patches family) out of Bridon Ethan Almond EX91, followed by Rozeview Dorie D Rachel EX95.
