Seven Dairy Students Awarded Klussendorf And McKown Scholarships

The Arthur B. Klussendorf Memorial Association and the McKown/Klussendorf Fund have awarded seven exceptional collegiate students with $1,500
scholarships. Recipients will be recognized at the 2025 National Dairy Shrine Awards Banquet, held during World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin this fall.

Each award is designed to support students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, active participation in extracurriculars, and a strong passion for showing dairy cattle in their true-to- breed form. Eligible recipients are enrolled in a two- or four-year college in the U.S. or Canada, pursuing careers in the dairy industry.

Klussendorf Scholarships
The Klussendorf Scholarship honors the legacy of the legendary dairy showman and cattle fitter Arthur B. Klussendorf. Thanks to the generosity of the late Chris Kampf and the continued support of Klussendorf Association members, this award goes to three students who exemplify Klussendorf’s high standards of character and ethics.
Allison Foss, Cambridge, Minnesota, studies agricultural and food business management with a minor in agricultural communications at the University of Minnesota. Known for her show ring success with Brown Swiss and dedication to mentoring younger showmen, Foss also manages a youth lease program to help others experience dairy firsthand.
Zachary Johnson, Tunbridge, Vermont, is a freshman at The Ohio State University and active in the Buckeye Dairy Club. With experience in multiple breeds and a standout show record, Johnson envisions a future in dairy cattle sales and promotion, building on the strong network and communication skills developed through his judging and leadership roles.
Clancey Krahn, Albany, Oregon, is a sophomore at Oklahoma State University, majoring in agricultural communications and animal science. With deep roots in her family’s creamery and an extensive national show career, Krahn hopes to advocate for the dairy industry through marketing, policy, and consumer engagement.

McKown Scholarships
The McKown Scholarship was created by friends and family of the late Robert “Whitey” McKown, 1997 Honorary Klussendorf honoree and Holstein enthusiast. It recognizes four students from Holstein-focused backgrounds who demonstrate excellence in leadership, judging, and cattle presentation.
Chloe Breunig, Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, is a freshman at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She brings a strong background in animal care and health on her family’s farm, where she assists with fresh cow management. With a unique knack for technology developed at a young age, Breunig is poised to explore and integrate new farm technologies and become a leader in the agricultural community.
Jon Chapman, Keyes, California, is completing his associate’s degree in welding technology while taking dairy science courses at Modesto Junior College. He will transfer to Iowa State University to major in agriculture systems management. Chapman currently merges his technical skills and dairy background to offer mobile welding services and aims to continue building innovations that support on-farm efficiency, productivity and profitability.
Caroline Egolf, Churubusco, Indiana, is majoring in Animal Science at Purdue University. A seasoned showman and dairy nutrition intern, Egolf’s background on her sixth-generation family farm has driven her to work towards a career as a dairy nutritionist, focused on herd health and sustainability.
Jamie Gibbs, Rollingstone, Minnesota, attends the University of Minnesota, where she is double majoring in animal science and kinesiology with plans to pursue a doctorate in occupational therapy. A passionate show person and advocate for farm safety and accessibility, Gibbs plans to help farmers through rehabilitation care tailored to rural environments.
