Michael Lawrence was announced as the winner of Holstein UK’s President’s Medal Award at the BCBC Conference this week.
The Lancashire Holstein Young Breeder (HYB) was presented with the award by President of the Society Jimmy Wilson. As part of the award Michael will receive £2,000 towards visiting a country of his choice to further his knowledge of the dairy industry, kindly sponsored by Genus ABS.
A memento was presented to the two other finalists short listed for the award; Annabelle Doig from Norfolk HYB and Stephanie Whittaker from Western HYB.
Michael was selected as this year’s winner after being interviewed by a panel of three judges. The President’s Medalaward is the highest of accolades for any HYB member, Mark Smith from Genus ABS commented: “This competition never seems to disappoints, it proves the strength of talent within HYB”.
