MADISON, WIS. – The Purebred Dairy Cattle Association Board of Directors unanimously approved a change to the PDCA Show Ring Code of Ethics at the national PDCA board meeting on May 4, 2015. The rule change falls under Grooming and Preparation, with a new addition stating that “changing the natural color of the animal is prohibited.” The full rule now reads:
“Changing the natural color of the animal is prohibited. However, external applications of cosmetics that affect only appearance may be used, including by way of example hoof polishes and false switches.”
