Based on more than 3.700 daughters, the very complete Holstein sire BOSS was able to increase again to now RZG 145 (+5). Also in other countries BOSS ranks with own foreign daughters already among the TOP 5 worldwide, like in the Netherlands with NVI 304. BOOM was able to increase to RZG 143, the interesting EPINAL reached already RZG 137. Regarding the genomically tested sires, it is mainly BASALT (sire of sons in France), ARAGON (sire of sons in Scandinavia) and the new, limited BONUS (RZG 148, RZE 135) and JETSON (RZG 154, RZE 139), which create an attractive offer. For the Red Holstein line-up we would like to recommend the very complete AKIRO-RED. The highest genomically tested homozygous polled Holstein sire is now the new HOLO PP. Focus on “Feed Efficiency”
Reducing feed costs of around 20 ct by 10 % will result in 2 ct extra gain per kg milk, which is a lot in tough times. For producing more milk on less feed, CICERO (the # 1 feed efficiency improver) should be a good choice.
OHG Livestock Auction Sales
At the last OHG Livestock Auction Sale on the 15th November 2017 in total 208 heifers were sold for 1.761 EUR in average (price range 700 – 3500 EUR – sales quota 98 %). The next livestock sales will be held on the 13th December 2017, 10th January and 7th February 2018 at Halle Gartlage in Osnabrueck (Germany). More than 300 fresh calved, high quality pedigree heifers will be offered for the German and European market (catalogue). To organize the exportation of fresh calved or pregnant heifers it will be beneficial to contact OHG early in advance.
