COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame has inducted dozens of notable Fair contributors since 1976, including Bob Evans, Dave Thomas of Wendy’s and Senator George Voinovich. This year, at the 39th annual Hall of Fame ceremony, a new batch of Fair greats will become Fair legacies.
The Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame was established to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions toward making the Ohio State Fair one of America’s premier expositions. These inductees are chosen by the Governor each year.
This year’s inductees are Jim Brandt of Anna, John and Donna Greiwe of Sidney, Lucinda Miller of Mount Vernon, Barb Stuckey of Sycamore, Joe Wilson of Columbus, and Gene Isler, inducted posthumously, who resided in Delaware.
“It’s an honor to welcome this year’s Hall of Fame inductees,” said the Ohio State Fair’s General Manager, Virgil Strickler. “Without their contributions in the many facets of livestock and education, the Fair could not have reached the caliber that it is today.”
The 39th annual Hall of Fame ceremony will take place during the Fair on August 7 at 12:30 pm in the WCOL Celeste Center.
The Ohio Expo Center is proud to host the Ohio State Fair. With a spectacular midway, big-name entertainment, hundreds of exhibits and one of the largest junior fair shows in the nation, the 2015 Ohio State Fair will run July 29 – Aug. 9.
