Sandra K. (Forys) Blodgett,76, passed away at her home on November 11, 2017. She was the beloved wife of late Peter G. Blodgett, with whom she enjoyed 44 years of marriage. Loving mother to Randall S. Blodgett, Cynthia A. (Ryan) Geschwindt, and the late Pamela R. Blodgett; grandmother to Sara and Katie; sister to the late Gregory J. Roman; she will also be missed by her dog, Lexi.
Sandra was born in 1941 to the late Stanley and Cecelia Forys, in Philadelphia, PA. She lived to make childrens’ lives better, one day at a time. Not only was she extremely involved with her own children’s lives and supporting of their activities, for over 40 years, she dedicated her time working as a teachers assistant at Henry W. Lawton elementary school. Whether it was helping them with math, reading, or just helping brighten a child’s day, Sandra greatly enjoyed working with the staff and children at school. She has lived in the Bensalem area for over 20 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to Sandra’s viewing on Thursday, November 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mannal Funeral Home, 6925 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19135. Additional viewing hours will be held on Friday, November 17, from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by her funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Philadelphia, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, daughter, mother, and brother.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Sandra’s name to the Pamela Rebecca Blodgett Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Delaware Valley University, 700 E Butler Ave, Doylestown, PA 18901. This fund helps give scholarships to deserving students in Pammy’s name, at the University where Sandra’s husband, daughters, and other family members and friends have attended over the last 50 years.
