Obituary for Pennsylvania Farmer David Heagy

Everyone at Cowsmopolitan extends our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of Pennsylvania farmer David Heagy of Lebanon, PA, who passed away in a farm accident on April 29th.

Obituary for Pennsylvania Farmer David HeagyDavid W. Heagy, 72, passed away from a farm accident on Saturday, April 29, 2017.  He was the husband of June L. (Moyer) Heagy.  He was born in Lebanon to the late Henry C. and Dorothy Wenger Heagy.

He was a member of the United Christian Church where he pastored 9 churches during his 43 years of service, serving the past 7 years as Bishop.  He was an active member of the Mission Board taking numerous trips to Jamaica.  He was a dairy farmer in South Annville Twp. For more than 40 years and later became a crop farmer.  He was a Sales Rep for Dupont Pioneer Seed Co. for 48 years.

In addition to his wife, with whom he celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in April, he is survived by 4 Children, Allen, husband of Eileen (Eberly), Lebanon; Marlin, husband of Jen (Jordan), Lebanon; Wayne, husband of Jen (Bucks), Bath, NY; and Janet, wife of Adam Montgomery, Lebanon.  He is survived by 12 grandchildren, Kevin, Bryan, Megan, Kyle, Brooke, Amie, Paige, Rebecca, Jacob, Emilie, Alex, and Britney.  He is also survived by 6 brothers; Glenn, Edward, Lynwood, Nelson, Luke, and Samuel and 5 sisters; Della, Ruth, Elva, Thelma, and Alice.  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Valerie.

The services will be held Thursday, May 4th at 10:00 AM at the Cleona Campgrove, 3854 Hill Church Road, Lebanon, PA  17046.  The viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 3rd from 6-8 PM at the Cleona Campgrove and from 9-10 AM on Thursday prior to the service.  Interment will be in Gingrich Mennonite Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Christian Mission Board for Jamaica and Operation Smile.
