Obituary for Ontario Holstein Breeder Howard DonerUxbridge Chapel-Howard Walter Doner, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in Whitby, Ontario. Howard was born on May 26, 1931 to Earl and Mabel (Hilts) Doner in Gormley, Ontario, the eldest of four children. Howard married Jean (Brown) on September 15, 1956 in Bloomington, Ontario. In 1969 they moved to Cannington, Ontario where they raised their four children and made a living growing and marketing rutabagas and breeding Donelea Holsteins. Howard is survived by his devoted wife, Jean, and their four children: Daniel (and Anita) Doner; Richard (and Dale) Doner; Janet (and David) Reid; and Linda (and Cameron) McBain. “Papa” will be missed by his 12 grandchildren: Kyle, Natalie and Ava Doner; Benjamin (and Amanda) Doner, Katie (and Justin) Hackett and Jason (and Beth) Doner; Richard, Sarah and Emily Reid; and Leah, Brandon and Ethan McBain. He was blessed with four great-grandsons: Everett Doner, Samuel Hackett, and Micah and Isaiah Doner and was the much-loved brother to Floyd, Charlie and Evelyn Doner.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 5-8p.m. at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S., Uxbridge (905-852-3073). A Celebration of Howard’s Life will take place in the chapel on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 1:30p.m. with visitation for one hour prior. Reception to immediately follow. In memory of Howard, donations to Gideons International of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
