Obituary for Keith Kent Butcher

Everyone at Cowsmopolitan extends our most sincere sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of Keith Kent Butcher.

It is with sadness that our family announces the passing of a wonderful father, loving husband and much loved grandfather on October 8. Dad passed away surrounded by his family in the comfort of his own home in his 94th. year.

Keith is survived by his beloved wife Rhoda (Dufton) of 16 years (predeceased by his wife Agnes 1995) and his children Reg (Janet) Butcher , Larry (late Mary Hunter 2017) and Ruby (Tom) McDougall. He was the proud grandfather of Kristine (John) Guthrie, Ken (Jodi) Butcher, Jamie (Shelva) Butcher, John (Richelle) McDougall and T.J. (Devon) McDougall. Great Grandpa to Brandon, Taniesha, Rory, Kinsey, Amber, Sampson, Matteo, Jack, Grace, Ava and Abby….and great great grandpa to Daevon and Kiyren. Dear brother to Verna (late Lloyd) Gable and Phyllis (late Glen Anderson) as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Grant and his wife Clarion, Sisters Margaret and her husband Bob and Leila and her husband Angus. Dad is also survived by Rhoda’s sons Glen (Louise) Dufton and Allan (Kathy) Dufton and their families.

Dad lived a long and fulfilling life involved in the Canadian Jersey Cattle Club in which his involvement helped lead the way to the success that the breed is having to this day. His life was his family farm, friends and above all else his love and dedication for his family. We will miss him greatly but will remember all that he taught us along the way to live our lives to the fullest.

Dad – you will be missed and loved forever. As his little great-granddaughters have said “Great Grandpa will live in our hearts forever”.
