Obituary for Howard Cranston

Everyone at Cowsmopolitan sends their most sincere condolence and sympathies to the family and friends of Howard Cranston who passed away on Saturday March 4, 2017.  Born in Carluke, Ont. on May 15, 1933, to Grant & Naomi, Howard lived his entire life farming and serving his community. Married to Bernice (Lovering) in 1955 they have shared 62 years of wonderful memories. Cherished father of Marie (Dale) Smith & Doug (Joan). Much loved grandpa of Krista (Justin) Laposi, James (Melissa) Cranston, Aaron (Michelle) Smith, Kendra (Andrew) Hunt. And very proud great-grandpa to Charlotte & Milly, Kensington & Abigail, and Hunter. Predeceased by his brother Jack. Survived by sister-in-law Shirley, his brother Murray (Martha) and sister-in-law Marg Lovering (Colin deceased) & brother-in law Cecil Kipfer (Helen deceased).
He enjoyed family life, his friends at the trailer, and serving his community.
Howard was a Life Member of the Ancaster Agricultural Society, a faithful member & elder of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Carluke, a past Board Member of the Grand River Conservation Authority and he also volunteered and contributed his time to many other organizations.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Marritt Hall – Ancaster Fairgrounds (630 Trinity Rd. Ancaster) on Thursday, March 9, 2017, with the service beginning at 11 a.m. A time of fellowship and remembrance will follow.
