Obituary for US Brown Swiss Breeder Jeremy McDonald

Everyone at Cowsmopolitan send our most sincere condolences to the family and friends of US Brown Swiss breeder Jeremy McDonald, who left this earth on Friday, December 11th.

Harrisburg15 207Jeremy Dwayne McDonald, 39, of Middletown, Virginia, died Friday, December 11, 2015.

Mr. McDonald was born in 1976, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Gary W. and Sharon R. McDonald. Jeremy was a graduate of Sherando High School (the first graduating class). He was a farmer on the family farm “Shen-Val Farm” and a livestock judge that traveled the world. He was very passionate in showing cattle and lived for farming. Jeremy enjoyed wrestling and was the first Regional Champion from Sherando High School. He was a Virginia FFA State Star Farmer and won many State, Regional and National Livestock Competitions. Jeremy had a great insight for people, he never met a stranger at a cow show, had a great love for family and would never “cut himself short” always giving his absolute best in everything that he did.

He married Melissa A. “Missy” Purtlebaugh on December 24, 2002, in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife and parents is his son, Tyler J. McDonald.

His sister, Brandie Jo McDonald, preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 5:00-9:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home Amherst Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Fairview Lutheran Church Cemetery, Gore, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, arrangements are being made for Memorial Contributions to be sent to a Trust Fund for Tyler.
