NFL Players show support for the Dairy Industry

Over the weekend, NFL players had the chance to show off their creativity while supporting the cause of their choice as they stepped onto the field.

And two players in our region are taking advantage of the opportunity to support childhood health and wellness with dairy.

Buffalo Bills defensive lineman Harrison Phillips and Washington Redskins defensive lineman Morgan Moses will have had custom Fuel Up to Play 60 cleats adorned with black and white cow patterns for their teams Week 14 matchups – the Bills will host the Baltimore Ravens and the Redskins will travel to play the Green Bay Packers.

“It’s great to see these players put their passion for Fuel Up to Play 60 and children’s health and wellness priorities on full display,” Pennsylvania dairy farmer Marilyn Hershey. “NFL players and dairy farmers are very united in this cause, and our partnership has delivered healthy change in kids’ lives across the country.”

Phillips and Moses are advocates of the Fuel Up to Play 60 program, which teaches students about the importance of health, wellness, exercise and proper dieting with dairy foods through educational opportunities and physical activities with local NFL teams. Phillips and Moses are player ambassadors for the program in the Buffalo and Washington areas, respectively.

Eight other players from teams across the country will sport the cow-inspired Fuel Up to 60 cleats in Week 14. The cleats will be auctioned off afterward via the NFL, with proceeds going to the charity of the player’s choosing.
