New Hires at Accelerated Genetics

Baraboo, Wis. (April 16, 2014) – Accelerated Genetics is pleased to announce the promotion of Bob Lightner to I.S. Project Manager; the hiring of: Jeremy Persinger as Help Desk Coordinator; Ben Kinnard as District Sales Representative, Steve Rebhahn as Farm & Barn crew member, Jeffrey VanPatten as District Sales Representative, and Debbie Alt as Customer Service Representative.

In his new role, Bob Lightner is responsible for ensuring the progressive development of Accelerated Genetics’ new business system, Acumatica. He will be working extensively with a cross-divisional committee consisting of over 25 employees and consultants to manage testing and transition of this monumental endeavor.

Jeremy Persinger’s responsibilities include supporting users with email and website issues, along with laptop, tablet and phone support.

Jeremy grew up near Dodgeville, Wis. He comes to Accelerated Genetics with over 15 years experience in customer service and sales and possesses extensive knowledge in computer technology.

Jeremy is no stranger to Accelerated Genetics. He assisted the IS team when the network was converted to a new infrastructure over a year ago and has lent a helping hand on numerous other occasions.

Off hours, Jeremy has a great interest in cars, computers, and the outdoors. He has installed motors and upgrades, as well as participated at car events nationwide. When weather permits, he loves to trail hike, fish, motorbike, and stargaze. Jeremy is a member of the Iowa County Astronomers Association. He also uses his own telescope to photograph sunspots, the Moon, Jupiter, and the Orion Nebula.

Ben Kinnard is a District Sales Representative in Region 14 serving the areas surrounding Door and Kewaunee counties in Wisconsin. In this role he is responsible for developing sales leads, maintaining customer relations and selling Accelerated Genetics’ programs, products and services to ensure company growth in this region.

Ben grew up near Sturgeon Bay, Wis. on a small registered Holstein farm. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and holds a Bachelors degree in Dairy Science.

While in college he was active on the dairy judging team and to this day enjoys showing his cattle at both the state and local levels. Ben a current member of the Wisconsin Holstein Assocation. As a Junior Holstein member Ben was recognized as Wisconsin’s Oustanding Holstein Boy and served on the Junior Activities Commitee. He is also an avid Green Bay Packer fan!

Steve Rebhahn, is Accelerated Genetics newest farm and barn crew member. Steve grew up on a small farm near Viroqua, Wis., where he was active in 4-H and FFA showing registered show steers.

Steve is a recent graduate of University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Education and a minor in Meat Animal Science. While at UWRF, he was an active member of the meat animal judging team participating in judging contests across the country.

Jeffrey VanPatten joins Accelerated Genetics as a District Sales Representative in Region 1 covering the Finger Lakes / Upstate New York sales territory.

He comes to Accelerated Genetics with many years experience working with registered Holsteins and Jerseys throughout the United States and Canada. From fitting to showing, Jeffrey’s experience is known at both the state and national levels. He possesses a keen eye for show type animals having owned four All-American and All-Canadian nominations and being past recipient of the Master Showman at the All-American Dairy Show in Harrisburg, PA.

Prior to joining Accelerated Genetics, Jeffrey transported cattle and sold farm machinery. He welcomes the opportunity to use his pedigree and genomics knowledge in his new role with Accelerated Genetics.

Jeffrey and his wife and daughter live in Cuyler, NY.

In Debbie Alt’s role as the new Customer Service Representative, she is responsible for working within the call center handling incoming requests and customer orders. She is based out of the Accelerated Genetics Administration facility near Baraboo, Wis.

Debbie comes to Accelerated Genetics with a wealth of customer service experience spanning over 30 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with an emphasis in agriculture, education and animal sciences.

Debbie’s love of animals is what drives her current passion, raising and showing Arabian Horses. She is currently a member of the Wisconsin Arabian Horse Club Board of Directors. In addition, she is currently training her young German Shepherd in hopes to be qualified to participate in the local Therapy Dog Program.

Debbie and, her husband, Chuck, have two grown children and live on a small hobby farm near Mazomanie, Wis.
