Holstein Canada, Brantford, Ontario, has announced one new Canadian Production Champion for 2014.
She is Silverridge September Rae (GP-80) who has made a new Canadian Champion record for fat in the 6-year-old class. Bred and owned by Silverridge Farms Ltd., Springfield, Ont., this “September Storm” daughter made 18,026 kg milk, 6.9%, 1237 kg fat, 3.1%, 558 kg protein (361-669-351) in 305 days as a 6-year-old.
Canadian Champions are awarded to Holstein cows (75% pure or higher) that surpass the previous all-time highest performance for milk, fat, protein, or total BCA in their age at calving category. If more than one animal in a given year exceeds the previous highest level, only the top individual will be recognized as a new Canadian Champion.
