Elle Purrier St. Pierre, world class runner, Olympian, and Berkshire, Vermont dairy farmer, has broken her own record for the indoor women’s mile.
St. Pierre set the American Record for the Women’s Indoor Mile in New York City on Sunday, Feb. 11, racing the storied Wannamaker Mile at the Millrose Games and clocking a scorching 4:16.41 time, a time that beat her previous American Record of 4:16.85.
St. Pierre outpaced Jessica Hull, the Australian runner who overtook her last weekend in Boston in the 3K at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. St. Pierre raced a patient 1200m before taking off with a blazing kick in the race’s final stretch to claim the trophy and the record.
On her Instagram account, St. Pierre, who gave birth to her son Ivan 11 months ago, dedicated the race to moms, saying, “This one’s for the moms!” She has been an advocate for the dairy industry and dairy products throughout her world-class running career.
